The USDA USFS, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC), and the Southern Appalachian Wilderness Stewards (SAWS)

are hosting a crosscut A/B Bucking course.

 

Location: Mount Rogers National Recreation Area

Volunteer Trail Camp (Konnarock) in Sugar Grove, Virginia.

About the volunteer trail camp: Home to the Konnarock Volunteer AT crew, the facility has about 15 semi-developed, roofed sleeping areas with 2-3 beds, a full-service professional kitchen, gendered bathrooms and showers, clothes washers/dryers, a community room for classes and dining, and outdoor picnic tables. There is limited wi-fi available and no cell phone service. The Mount Rogers NRA Sugar Grove Work Center is adjacent to the camp. Training field sites will be within walking distance from the camp.

The address for the Work Center is 655 Flat Ridge Rd, Sugar Grove, VA 24375, the entrance to the volunteer camp is west of the address.

Other Accommodations: Marion, VA has several lodging and dining options. It is approximately a 25-minute drive to the volunteer trail camp.
